no capacity cost, same work centers

All,

I am looking at two capacity ledger entries.

Capacity Ledger Entry 1:
for Production Order 1, Status = Finished
Item 1,
Work Center = 2023
The Entry does not have any Quantity nor Direct Cost
--> nothing got posted to G/L accounts

Capacity Ledger Entry 2:
for Production Order 2, Status = Finished
Item 1 (same item)
Work Center = 2023
The Entry shows Quantity and Direct Cost
--> it had an effect on the G/L account

Why has the first Capacity Ledger Entry no Cost on it?

I compared the Production Order Lines of Production Order 1 and 2 but cannot find any difference.

What else can I check?

It is a 4.0 database on SQL.

Pls. check rounting lines for this work center or prod. order routing lines. Perhaps the WC is setup with specific unit cost...

So they posted the first production order by telling the system they used no time to manufacture it thereby creating zero cost.

    It is really weird.

I even found a Finished Production Order with several Production Order Lines.
Two of those lines contain the same item X.

For one line the capacity cost was posted as expected.
For the other line (same item number) the capacity cost is zero.

I compared the zoom of both Production order lines:
They are identical except: Line No., Unit Cost and Cost Amount

I compared the zoom of "Prod. Order Routing Line" for both Production order lines:
They are identical for all fields.

Still if I look at the capacity entries for the Production orders then one entry for item X shows Capacity Costs and the other entry for item X shows Capacity Cost = 0.

Any other ideas what I could check?

Is the zero cost prior to the actual cost? If so and you now cannot reproduce the zero cost it would imply that at the time the order with zero cost was posted there was no associated cost, and this was added later.
