dataport newbie step by step export and import

Hello,

im a newbie in navision.

could u help me with a step by step in this question?

i got itens and price tables to update.

i export the tables to .txt
then i update in excel all fields.

what then?

i convert in txt and then import to dataport?
all fields must match?
how can i test?
