Create SQL 2000 Linked Server To Access Native NAV 5SP1

Hi,

I'm trying to create a linked server in SQL 2000 to access my Native NAV 5SP1 database through NODBC. I have created a system DSN which I can use happily to query the database through Microsoft Query/Excel etc. I can create the linked server using the OLEDB for ODBC provider, and specify the DSN name in the 'Data source' setting, but when I click on the 'Tables' icon the list of tables never appears and I am left with an hourglass and no option but to kill SQL Enterprise Manager.

Has anybody done this successfully? Do I need to change some other parameters in the linked server settings?

Is there a reason why you are on native server, if you already have SQL? I suggest to move to sql.
