License of 4.0 for 5.0

Hi all,

My question is,

Do we have to get a new license for 5.0 for the client working on 4.0 (SP3)?

Will the old license, used for 4.0 will work for 5.0?

Ya...You need to purchase New Licence...we people was also purchase 4.0 now we
want to implement 5.0 so had purchase new licence for 5.0

All depends if the customer is paying maintenance fees. If yes, partner can just update the license for customer to be able to run 5.0 client.

The ganule description in the pricelist is confusing, saying 'This granule give you access to run Microsoft Dynamics NAV release 4.00 and higher.'

I've done a test upgrade and was able to do everything, posting etc. using our license with only the version 4.00 granule, but Iøm checking with our partner anyway...

I don't know if it's significant that we're only doing a client upgrade at this time.

Yes, it is. If doing just technical upgrade, you need to have license allowing you to run them. You can run them if you pay the fees or if your license were issued after the client version was released...
