Error when importing XML file

NamnackNamnack Member Posts: 15
Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me out, here's my problem:

I get the error: "Invalid XML dataport request" upon running my dataport

Which is probably caused by the fact that I'm trying to import a file which was created by the same dataport which uses two data items that are joined by a DataItemLink. Can someone explain to me how to import such a file (importing into two distinct data items), or tell me that it's simply impossible and that I need to import using two steps.

Thx in advance.

Have you set the FileFormat on the dataport to xml by any chance?

Duh! :-) I most certainly did. If one wants to export using layered data items, one has no choice but to use UPXML.

BTW this feature is removed in 5.0, and I suggest to use xmlport instead to create xml files. UPXML is just export, you can import using dataports.

    What is XMLPort?

It's a new object type that was released in 3.x version. What version do you have?

You can do an exe upgrade and get new object types. You also need to update your license.

For demo download from mibuso the w1 5.0 client and db and take a look.

I've found a way to export it in two steps, thanks for the input though.
