how to tell a Navision DB version?

Hi,
I just wonder how to tell a Navision DB version without trying to open it by using client 3.01 to 3.70?
I mean, there is a database.fdb file. I open it with Navision client 3.01, there is a version error, then I know it's not a 3.01 DB; then I open it with Navision 3.10, then there is still a version error, then I know it's not a 3.10 DB either; then I open it with 3.6.......
This way is terrible, so is there some other easier and more useful ways/tools that I can implement?

Maybe you should think of version when creating DB and put version in filename. Like Cronus MBSN W1 370.fdb®obi
