schemaxt.exe really required?

This is about installing C/SIDE DB server for NAV 5.0.

I have two computers on the network. I've installed NAV 5.0 client on one PC, and C/SIDE Database Server on the other PC. I have also copied Database files on the PC which has Database Server. My client PC name is "DELL-1" and the DB server PC name is "DELL-2". I have added entries in hosts and services files of both PCs like below.

#hosts file
111.111.111.111 DELL-1

#services file
DELL-1 1555/tcp #DELL-1 Database Server

Now, the question is do i really need to use Schemaxt.exe to extend the Active Directory schema. Or can I connect to the Database Server on the network through my cilent on the other PC?

What are the parameters that should I pass while creating the shortcut to fin.exe. Please provide me guidance as briefly as possible. I am a newbie on the block :)

Thanks in Advance,
Snehal, Ahmedabad, India.

Schemaxt.exe is not needed... I never used that...

If you do not know what to pass as parameters, may be it is time to read some manuals... ;-) see the w1w1ism.pdf file in the DOC folder of the install DVD.
