I am afraid that in most cases the DB will cost you something... see e.g. http://www.geopostcodes.com
Or some countries have free copy, but you will need to search for them one by one (country by country).

has anyone of you got some list like this??
thanks
Be careful with this. Every country has its own laws, so the data may be copyrighted in one country but not in another. So just make sure that before you share this that its legally obtained.
But if you do find it, then I think its somethign that many client s would like to buy.
I just started blogging a few weeks ago entering all stuff I have lying around in word files etc. for myself. I guess it might be usefull for other people too after all.
So you can go to the site trough the article on my blog  or just go straight to the site of with the postal codes: http://www.geonames.org/postal-codes/

Ah no. Just looked closer, and these are not post codes. So no luck there.
It did seem odd that someone could give out all Europeans post codes without legal issues.
Hi David, thanks for pointing me out I gave the wrong link, I corrected it know :-).
It should be ZIP not dump at the end of the URL.
Please don't start copying the link all over the place, there is a reason why it's not easy to see this link on their website. They want to prevent mass downloads of the files by everyone every day. It is still a free project after all.
