Change the Item Code

I want to ask ( if any one can give the solution to me )
I create a new Item code in the Item Card, then I do the transaction with this item code ( purchase or sales transaction of course )
After that, I want to change the item code
The question are :
Is it possible to change the item code which had already some transaction in the past ?
If it's possible, how about the historical transaction of that item code ?......I mean, does it also change into the new item code ?

Why don't you simply try it out?

The answer: Yes, it's possible. All tables where the item is used (purchase/sales orders, stocks etc.) will be changed as well.
