Assigning Users to Menu Items

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to have a dynamic menu...that is certain areas of a menu (in Navigation Pane) are hidden dependent upon who is logged in at a given time.

Thanks for any help. Chris

You can right click on the menu in question and go to assign users. From within each menu items are hidden based on standard permissions.

Thanks - I understand the 'right click, assign users'...what I'm interested in is allowing the user to access the entire menu, except for a folder...in my case it is a 'setup' folder with about 4 forms in it.

What is the best solution? Thanks for any help. Chris

Like I said, if they don't have permission to access those objects then they won't show up in the menu. If you have everyone as SUPER (DATA) or something similar then you're out of luck. The only way to hide folders or items within a functional area is using permissions.

You might be able to get away with copying the menusuite from a generic user when someone logs on. There are some posts about how to do this around.

    Good luck.

Thanks - I'll test this out and make sure my understanding is clear. Chris
