Service Invoice VS Sales Invoice

Hi all,
May I know the difference between "Service Invoice" and "Sales Invoice" in the service management aspect? I only know that after posting the service order, I should also post the service invoice, for charging customers and updating the GL. How about sales invoice? When will I need to create this and get the service order information into sales line?
