Can Service Item Component copy from Production BOM?

Hi all,

I want to add our manufactured items as service items and provide warranty. As we produce large machines, there are many parts used during production, which may need to be replace when they are out of order. I checked from the manual that service item components can be copied from BOM, but it seems it copies from the component BOM on the item card instead of the production BOM. Is there any method to do this? It is important to our case, as we don't have standardized machines manufacturerd, every machine is different from the others. So, not possible for us to update manually the parts list for every single machine.

Any suggestions?

Doesn't work without customization. I've done this once and it wasn't to much job.
