    Hi Rakesh,

Administration -> IT Administration -> Data Deletion

Is this what you are looking for?

I think you are referring to a codeunit that existed in NAV 4.X that allowed to clean historical entries to prepare a new company. That codeunit was removed in NAV 5.X.

... if so then codeunit 8604 Data Cleaning is what you want - you will get this from the RIM toolset. N.B. be careful !

Actually the codeunit is 8604 data cleaning which is not present in NAV 5. However, i have managed the codeunit from NAV 4 database and apply it on NAV 5.

    Hi Rupesh,

Data deletion is a collect of object designed to help the user remove unwanted historical data. The most common example is then on sales orders, if you invoice by get shipment lines the original order is left. Some customer like this as an audit trail but the details are in the posted shipment and posted invoice. The idea is to enable the end-user (admin of course) to manage the build up of non-essential data.

On the other side the data cleaning codeunit is designed (although you need to modify for extra tables) to clear out test data when getting ready for an implementation. It is alway implied that this is tested throughly

    Hope this makes it clearer

    Hi Kisu,

The cleaning was only a small part of the RIM tool set. The data migration took over from the RIM tool so the cleaning "got Lost". It's a dangerous but powerful tool - be careful and loads of testing

So after we get a new database tested with all customs and setups ready we create new company, use the company to company copy function in the setup check list and hope everything will work as new, then delete the test company? :-k :?:

Would be just simple to have that tool to remove the transactions and such and leave the clean setup in the tables blah :|

    You mean the cu8604?

If so which tables should I add for it so it would clean the nav 5 properly. If I read correct something was missing from manufacturing and production that is not listed. Any thing else.
