Invoice Pool Excluding Posting

Hello

Can the Invoice Pool excluding posting be used to match against Purchase Orders?? Would be useful if it can.

My understanding is the following: -

Invoice Pool excl. posting is used to register an invoice that does not need approval and is pulled into the invoice journal, therefore there is no stage to match it to a PO?

The invoice register is used to enter invoices that are approved (internally). These can be posted as invoices either via the invoice approval journal to match against a PO, or alternatlively by clicking the Purchase order button on a line in the invoice pool? You can also directly pull the invoice register into the invoice approval journal without matching to a PO??

In summary: Is the invoice pool excl. postings only used for invoices that cannot be matched to a PO? I hope not...
