Two quick questions; dimensions and adjust cost

1) Is there a work around for not being able to enter a 'range' of values in the dimension mandatory value field? I had to deal with this a long time ago but I don't remember what resolution I came to.

2) Does the Adjust Cost batch job do anything for items with standard cost? For example, correcting the amounts that go into the variance accounts.

Input is appreciated as always.

1: No. This is a modification.... and it's a modification where you'll be modifying the posting routine (possibly, depending on how you do it), so you want someone really good doing that for you, and you want to test the crap out of it.

    Hi Guys,

I'd stay away from the posting routine and put the modification in the Dimension Management codeunt 408.

    Good call.

    ^^^ What he said :)

Caveat: That can still be a very unfriendly codeunit for anything but a senior developer... use one.

Yes. adjust cost routine does make the variance value entries which are then posted to gl based on difference between actual and standard cost.
