Adjust Cost - Item Entries (Endless loop) again...

Hi,
I'm come back with the problem about costing (average cost).
My client is now facing the problem while running adjust cost Item Entries and the process cann't finish coz of endless loop.
The causes of this problem are :
They have issued Sales Order and post shipment on 30/09/2008 (ship#001) and post invoice (by get shipment line) on 30/08/2008.
Once they know that it's wrong (incorrect shipment date), then created the return receipt on 30/09/2008 and post credit memo (by get return receipt) on 30/08/2008.
Next, with their miss understand, then created the negative adjustment on 30/09/2008 (Adj#001) and also re-created the shipment&invoice on 30/08/2008.
Finally, while they tried to run the adjust cost item entries on end of August, they found that the process was hit the endless loop. They solved this problem by create the positive adjustment on 30/08/2008 and the process can finish.
But now, the problem is return while they try to run the adjust cost on September. The process is hit the endless loop again. I notice that the process is hitting the shipment & negative entries were created on 30/09/2008 (Ship#001 and Adj#001).
I tried to search the forum about this case, most of suggestions are solve by positive adjustment on that day and I tried to do as well, but it cannt solve.
More information, they using NAV Attain 3.6 with SQL Database.
The costing method for this item is "average", and average cost calc. type is "Item".
Anybody has experience like this? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately I'm using NAV3.6 and the function : InvtToAdjustExist doesn't exist on this version.
I'm not sure that it's the different function name or not.
One more question, I dont know the right quantity which needs to positive on that day. Should it be equal the total quantity of negative transaction which occurred on that day? Or just 1 pcs is enough?
