Hi guys,

I'm new to Nav and want to get a better understanding of the replication process. We are deploying Nav with 11 site servers and one HO server and there will be on-directional data flows between them.

Can anyone tell me where I can find some propper info on the topic.

Many thanks,

The Duke : ))

    Hy,

i think your navision is based on SQL,
then you have to look there, u can just use
    the enterprise manager.

Navision has in the basic desing nothing for doing replications.
It you need a copy of your data you can just use hotcopy function. and distribute the copy (be aware, its a lot of data you will probably transfer).

There was a tool from a danish softwarehouse which enabled a solution for a real replication (but this was in 2000 where I was looking for, and I cant find the papers quickly).

The standard implementation is a central access via RDP-Client (Terminal Server or Citrix) which doesn't need any kind of replication

There is also another Danish company by the name of "DataBackbone" which developed a solution called "Replicator for Navision".

Take a look at their website for more info: http://www.databackbone.dk
