Navision Permission/Role problem

pmusupmusu Member Posts: 55
I have a problem with one of our clients which is baffling me. I have never encountered something like this.
The user suddenly experiences loss of permissions. An e.g. being he/she suddenly can no longer read/insert/modify a table.

The roles are fixed through security | roles. However I have no idea how the roles/permissions are suddenly vanishing.
Did one of you experts ever encounter anything similar?

Thanks

The licence could be the problem as well

    What version are you using?

And is it SQL or Native?

Another explanation could be (if you are on SQL and you are using the enhanced security model) that someone is forgetting to Synchronize?!

I'm curious... have the user's roles in security setup remained stable during these episodes, or do the various roles have to be re-assigned to the user? I guess where I'm going is that if pre-existing roles are disappearing, there may be a human element involved whether or not the DB is SQL.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry for the delay in posting a reply.

@arcull: I checked the license. It seems the be fine.
@Tvis: I am using Navision 5.0 SP1. Using Native DB.
@MW59: The roles seem to be fine. It is the permissions in the role which seem to be changing.
@rjverma: Checked the database size. There is ample space. There is no need to expand.

I guess I can exclude a virus since I have never heard about a Navision virus which changes permissions.
Will update this thread as soon as I figure out the cause of the problem.

    Thanks for the input.
