Is Excel 2000 support for export and import in NAV 5.0?

Not sure why as the ole interface is pretty much identical but I've seen the same with other (non-ms) applications which export to excel and which didn't work with 2000, only with 2003+.
Tell them to upgrade to 2007 - its sooo much better than 2000.
