Error when posting Output Journal

Hi all,

I am attempting to post an Output Journal and I am getting an error saying:-

"You cannot post Item Journal Line that results in negative Inventory on Hand"

By the way, at my Inventory Setup, I have specified Inventory on Hand as my Posting Restriction.

Does anyone know the solution to this?

It looks customization or localization.

Usually you get a an error for component item is not in inventory.

Do you have access to a WW database where you can try to duplicate? That will let you know if it's indeed a custom/local issue... you can also use the debugger to see which objects it hits and look at the version lists and "Modified" fields... although unless I'm mistaken the "Modified" field can be unchecked by someone with the right access... #-o

You cannot consume to negative inventory when using manufacturing. This is how standard NAV works. There's a bug in version 4.0 that allows you to consume to negative, but that's a separate issue.

It can't be customisation because there is none done for this module.

To Alex,
I have already purchased inventory\raw mats to consume but somehow I am still facing this error. If I choose to specify *blank* at my Posting Restriction under Inventory Setup, then its fine. But if I specify *Inventory on Hand* I will get said error.

Specifying *Inventory on Hand* under Posting Restriction means that I can only post if I have inventory available right?
