NAV WMS uses bin ranking in inventory pick and bin replenishment.
Can it be done by First In First Out (FIFO) or First Expiry First Out (FEFO)?
Thanks in advance!

Bin Ranking and Costing Method have no relationship whatsover. That is a common misconception.
Bin Ranking results in picking items in a specfied order, that means you decide what bin the warehouse employee will go to first or what bin NAV will use to store the items before other bins are used.
The costing method creates its applicatons within item ledger entries by the item application entries when a shipment is posted, these are totally independent to any warehouse activities.Kai Kowalewski0 -

I don't think the original posting is talking about the costing method. He wants the warehouse people to pick the items that are sitting in the warehouse the longest to be picked and shipped first.
The purpose of this is so old inventory items that may expire does not sit in the warehouse collecting dust.
For version 5.0SP1, the ability to pick FEFO is introduced on the Location card, but you have to implement Lot number or serial number as well.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

your right alex, thats my point.
'coz we have consumable items that has expiry dates that first expiry (FEFO) should be moved first and retail items that should be moved by FIFO. and FEFO was achieved by activating the item tracking by use of lot nos.
Thanks a lot Alex!0 -
