NAV report objects do not have colors. The color dialog box in the report designer is useless, it doesn't work. The report object stores the color values, but the rendering is not capable of showing colors. The only color you can have in a report is through pictures. there are some creative solutions where you can create a picture of a certain text in a certain color on the fly, and if you search mibuso on "reports AND color" you will probably get hundreds of useful posts about this topic.

Or you transfer your datas to word and create there your report design. If you work with SQLServer 2005 (or SQL 2000 with Reporting Service), you can use the SSRS functionality of the Server to print out colored reports.
