Hello!,

We are in electronic manufacturing industry & implementing Navision. We have loaded item master with many variants. We have defined one variant in BOM, but we are having inventory & open purchase orders for multiple variants. After executing MRP on forecast & sales order the Navision is considering stock & open purchase orders for only item defined in BOM & does not considering variant stock and open purchase orders.

Can anybody help to solve this problem?

As far as I know variants isn't supported in Navision MRP. I think there is some addons for example for the "clothing industry" where variants is common.

while implementing manufacturing module, items with variants can be a problem with BOM structure (especially when your components change based on variant of upper item).you need some development which create bom/routing versions based on variant and force system to use correct version for certain variants.

good addon on this area is pebblestone fashion. Although it is especially for textile industry, base granules can be used for almost all companies who use items with variants.
