Multiple Domains for Users/AD Groups

No experience with this. Hopefully I word it correctly.
Our IT department is looking at redoing the AD groups and domains for our multiple companies.
Is this possible:
Database on domain 1
Users on domains 2,3,4, and 5
All domains trust each other.
Can we just add users to the windows logins like normal? Any issues with users logging on to a database in a different domain? Anything to look out for?

There was no problem with authentication.
