ADCS Barcode - Pauses

Hello
Just wondering if someone can help. We have deployed ADCS for barcode scanning. Every now and then when you are doing a pick/pack the unit freezes. I have tried this directly from the ADCS server with hyperterminal only to find the same problem. The freeze lasts only around 10 seconds however it is becoming annoying.
There doesnt seem to be any pattern when it happens, the order could be only a few items and it will still freeze.
Any ideas?
