Hi
Overview
I’m using Amyuni pdf converter ver. 2.08 to generate a pdf file when printing a report from Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision 3.70 (Navision). The reports are requested from and presented on a website (WebVision by NovaVision Software A/S).
In a system running win 2000 (sp1) or win XP Pro (sp1) as operation system, with Navision and the pdf converter installed I’m able to print reports in both portrait and landscape without problems.
Problem
When I try to print reports in landscape on a system running win 2000 Server (sp3) as operation system (the customers system), I get problems. A pdf file is created with then printed text in landscape, but the paper stays in portrait. The portrait reports work as they should.
Tested workarounds
I have tried to use the Amyuni function SetOrientation to correct the paper orientation on the printer before calling the report that should be printed as a pdf file. It doesn’t work.
Installing a second printer with default paper orientation set to landscape is not an option. Setting the pdf converter to default printer in all the systems described above takes between 30 and 33 seconds (in all systems above). The reports are initiated from a website (that is hosted on the same system as the pdf converter and Navision), generated in Navision and then presented on the website. If I have to change the default printer, the website gets a timeout, because the change takes too long. Setting the original default printer takes less than half a second.
Questions:
1.
Does anyone know what causes the time consuming process of setting the pdf converter to default printer?
2.
Does anyone know of any known issues with the Amyuni pdf converter ver. 2.08 installed on win 2000 Server with various service packs installed?
3.
Does anyone have any ideas of what will solve my problem with the wrong paper orientation, except upgrading the operating system (service packs not included)?
Prior to this problem, we have tried using Amyuni pdf converter ver. 2.10 (with activation code) – only to find it wouldn’t work in conjunction with Navision (exact problem unclear to me at this point).
Kind regards
/Nyhus

Within Navision the reports act normal, if it's a report in landscape, it's a landscape report I get in preview and om paper.
My problem is when using the Amyuni pdf converter 2.08 as the printer for the report, and only when it's installed on a win 2000 server with SP3. The printed text is generates to fit a landscape oriented paper, but the "paper" is not oriented to landscape - it's in protrait
I feel that its must be something with the SP3...the best bet is to contact Amyuni offices or Microsoft tech support. Try searching in the Microsoft knowledge base for any knows issues. Hope you find a solution.
