export to excel + printers

I have noticed that export to excel (let's say using defaul reports in nav) takes considerably longer (or shorter) time if we change default printers.

Have anyone else noticed this thing? Is NAV communicating with printer even if we do not print report (just preview/export to excel)?

it still uses the printer drivers for render the page in preview mode.
if you don't have a printer on a computer, you can't preview.

but when the difference of exporting to excel expans into 5-10 minutes, you start to think there is something wrong with it

As far as longer or short, there are other things that could be the cause, change the report to processing only and export to excel.

i have tried setting processing only as yes.

still, with one printer export process to excel is considerably long and with another (when printer is set to default) is relatively fast.

What are the two drivers? Is one a local driver and the other a network driver?
