just as a test try to restore it into 5 database parts of 2gb.
    d:\Database1.fdb
    d:\Database2.fdb
    d:\Database3.fdb
    d:\Database4.fdb
    d:\Database5.fdb

if it works you know you're not allowed 1 file of 10gb on that drive.

if it's only 2.63gb why stick into a 10gb?? but that's another question

Make sure your disk is formatted as NTFS (and not FAT/FAT32):
Max. file size using FAT FAT32 NTFS
                         2 GB 4 GB 16TB

More info: NTFS compared to FAT and FAT32

My thoughts exactly..apparently I take the long road & Luc get's right to the point =D>

I doubt FAT But FAT32 isn't out of the question
Try 2 files of 4gb

He didn't tell us where this backup-file is stored. Could be on a network drive instead of drive D: So it could be FAT as well ;-)

I will hope, your drive D is not a local disc.

I hope its a mapped drive, for example to a SAN.
Do you make it right, it works too!

if NTFS, to search another way, could it be a problem with the Licence? (i'm not sure that a "standard" licence can create a native 10GB DB!). But someone here can surely give more info about it..
