Create a new company copied from another

Hi all !


I would like to create new company copying an existing other company in the same database. But I need to delete all history, entry, transactions, etc, tables.

Anyone knows how is the best and easiest way to handle this ?

Backup the company, rename the old to the new and restore the company.

You can use the RIM tool to delete data AFAIK.

- Rename the old company to the new company, backup the company, rename the new company to the old company, then restore.
This way data containing the company name, i.e. table "Member of", will still contain the old company name.

- In my opinion it is usually better and also safer to start with an empty company, and then copy the necessary data by hand, table for table.
