Does SQL ODBC Driver for SQL 2000 works with SQL 2005

Don't ask me why, but the customer wants/needs to use Sql ODBC Driver from SQL 2000 with a SQL 2005 database (with Dynamics NAV). Does this work?
EDIT: I have some more info now. They want to query the NAV database to get some data into Access. The PC has the ODBC drivers installed for SQL 2000. The NAV data is stored in a SQL 2005 database. I guess it's not a problem when one only reads data?

i use ODBC Driver "Microsoft SQL Server ODBC-Treiber Version for 2000" and Excel to connect to NAV on an 2005-er server and the queries still work.
RegardsDo you make it right, it works too!0
