Hi - i am attempting my first AX install and would really appreciate some help please ...
I have installed Windows sever 2003, SQL express 2005 and AxV4.
The database has been created on SQL as a result of the Ax setup
A service called DynamicsServer$01-CompanyAjmal01 has been created, also during setup however its Status remains as 'Starting' (not Started). The SQL Server service shows as Started.
I get a couple of error messages:
1) Could not start the service...error 1053. The service did not respond
to the start or control request
2) Could not start DynamicsServer$01-CompanyAjmal01.
error 100: cannot create another system semaphore
When i try and open Axapta i get as far as the blue Dynamics sceen but then get the following message:
MS AX cannot connect to the AOS
and
a Login error: Failed to establish connection
I haven't done anything at this stage with regards to Licence or Logons

Hi, if you have installed Dyn without error, try to start AOS on another account (with admin rights)going to Europe0
-
Miker
please clarify as i initially installed Wndows Server (and Active Dir) using Administrator account and used the same to install SQL and AX.0 -
Hm.. then thy to start AOS with next parm
/console 01
All errors you have is AOS does not start[/code]going to Europe0 -
I think the issue was not giving the server sufficient time to build the index file. I left it overnight and it did the trick and the service is now Started - or else it was to do with giving permission on the Apps folder (Sharing and security)?
One other question please
I am going through the Installation checklist. The last bit is Import (Start database import) - Under Import options<File name i find my Demodata.dat filebut i get a message:
Error: unknown record typr=e in loaded file, EXPFORMAT VER 4.010 -
in general
some data and your field in table has different EDT, may be different Extends or lengthgoing to Europe0 -
sorry don't follow...:( is this something that can be done from the Infolog Edit button?)
Is it a question of a different data version. If so where can i get demodata from - partner source only gives SP2 data for v40
