Reversing Journals in AX 4.0

Hello

I am aware that in AX 2009, there is the added functionality of a reversing journal, whereby you enter a date for the transaction to be reversed from its original posting.

However, this functionality does not exist in AX 4.0. Has anyone got any idea on the best routine for achieving the same result?

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Your only real option is to load a journal reversing the lines.

It is quite a serious gap in the standard functionality, finally plugged in AX2009.

Are you saying the best way is to save the original journal upon posting as a periodic journal, then reverse the entries (debits to credits etc)??

You would not want to save all of your journals as periodic journals really, so assuming that this is the exception rather than the rule you manually create another journal with the lines the reverse entries of the one you want to reverse, so you perform the reverse manually. Just hope it is not a 400 line journal!
