Sales Order Post Invoice Dimension problem

An Item has Dimension setup as follows:
Dimension Code - X
Dimension Value Code - 1
Value Posting - Code Mandatory

Warehouse Shipment already posted. When Posting Ship & Invoice from the Sales Order, it prompts
Select a Dimension Value Code for the Dimension Code X for the Item .....

Already checked that the Line -> Dimension has the value there, tried deleting & reinserting the dimension but the error would be there unless the Value Posting is set to blank.

What can be done without going to the debugger?

Check if Item dimension=X is conflicting with any other G/L dimension?
in that case you have to set the dimension priorities.

try to set value posting= same code select the item again and then try.
