Windows Server 2008

We are using Navision 4.0 and need to move to a new server. I am considering Windows Server 2008 64-bit.

- would this work with Navision 4.0 SP 3?
- can we to a technical upgrade from 4.0 to 4.0 SP 3 for the server application or do we need to upgrade all objects, making it a big project?

We are still running internal and development SQL Server databases with NAV 5SP1 on Windows Server 2008 64 bit without any problems.
NAV5SP1 fixes SQL related errors that had to be patched in earlier releases, so go with an executable upgrade to NAV5SP1.

But you are running 64 bit SQL Server, which is only used to store the database. Navition C/SIDE database server on 64bit OS will probably work, but is a big fat waste of resources. NAV is a 32 bit app, can only use one processor and a maximum of 1GB of RAM.

Navision 4.0 PS3 runs without any problems with SQL 2008 on Windows server 2008 , but I could not manage to install native Navision 4.0 SP3 server on Windows Server 2008.
