What is the use of variant datatype.How it is used ?

The variant datatype is used when you don't know the data type of the inbound data.

I've just discovered that Text Constants are not passed to a Variant variable as Text, but as "<>". If passed as FORMAT(Text Constant) it works.

Is it just me that believe this should be referred to the bug section? I mean, it doesn't get more text than a Text Constant now, does it?
