Hws 3.7 Batch job differing from 4.0

We are doing Upgrade for 3.7 to 4.0 . While using Upgrade toolkit, One function nullifies the values in these 3 fields of Item Application Entry table
"Consumption","Output is adjusted","Output Value entry no.".I want to know what impact does it have on the database of 4.0 when the batch job is run??
