[solved] Upgrade form 4.00SP3 to Nav 5 - speed question

Hi

I have question about upgrade toolkit speed.
DB -SQL serwer 2005., DB size is 40 GB

I have very low speed using upgrade toolkit - W1 toolkit

First Transfer (old database) - 7 Hour
Second transfer (new database - new object) - still working. About 48 hours.. and not finish. (don't know when it ends)

This is normal?

I upgrading before few database and it work fast but DB size of them is about 1GB

This is possible.

Check out the big tables. Remove the indexes you DON'T need for the upgrade. You should NEVER create them during the upgrade. (Not even when the manual tells you to import the new objects [in these objects you should disable them]). When ALL is finished, import the objects in which there are also the keys you disabled.

Use a good server with as many disks as possible. Remember that upgrading does a lot of reading/writing!

I quickly blocked all keys without those which upgrade uses (about 5 keys)
Impact is:

10 % of transfer shipment header table
Before - 1 day
After - 15 min.

Better dont calc percentage..
By the way..Toolkit can swich off keys and turn on after finish its 10 min of developing :-$
