Linking Item Entries Table to G/L Entries Table

Can anyone tell me which are the best fields to use to link the item entries table to the g/l entries table in a report?

    There is no real link between the Item Ledger Entries and the General Ledger Entries. Although there is a value entry number on the G/L Entries, this too cannot be used reliably because it is possible to post the inventory values to the G/L summarised per inventory posting group.
