Hi,
We are considering Version 5.0 for NAV and we currently use the Native Server
I have a question about the new functionality, is there any of it that will only work specifically on SQL (i.e. areas like Record Links, Outlook Integration) that means we should upgrade to Version 5.0 with SQL or are we able to stay on Native and still have the benefits of this new functionality?

Other than that, I'm not aware of anything else that's SQL specific.

Business Notification is not SQL specific. You do need SQL to run the notification services but the NAV database can be native. Same for Commerce Gateway.

But then if you don't have SQL, how will you be able to run Business Notification using only Native NAV?

Didn't say anything about them not having SQL. Just that NAV is not running on SQL. SQL would be on a different server.
Not sure. I haven't had the time to look at it. But isn't that using NAS?

so perhaps NAV doesn't need it - but you might need it somewhere??

yes I agree with Mark, the reasons for moving to SQL these days are much stronger than just basic functionality, you need to look at the whole picture.
