    Hi!

Are you running NAV on C/SIDE or SQL Server?

With C/SIDE you only could use the Client Monitor for investigation & analysis (check out the "Performance Troubleshooting Guide & Tools").

With SQL you could also use SQL Profiler, Performance Dashboard, DBA Dashboard and much more.

To check on the platform/hardware you could use "Windows Performance Monitor".

    Hope this helps a little.

With SQL there is A LOT to monitor, analyze - and finally to optimize ...
If you search the forum for "SQL Perfromance" you'll get tons of advices!

Regarding "performance analysis & optimization" I recommend this site:
    http://www.sql-server-performance.com/tips/performance_main.aspx
These are general tips for SQL analysis & tuning; the more specific NAV issues you could find here:

I think you need to get your customers expecations. Please ask them an example from another application. Maybe they want to benchmark or something.

Well, I'm not sure about what you are asking for ... :-k

As Mark said: What does your customer want to have? What should this "Matrix" show? What do you want to measure and compare? What kind of "benchmark" to you want to perform?

Some measuremen/analysis tools are mentioned above, maybe you also want check out the "Application Benchmark Tool" for NAV?

If you are looking for some kind of "best values" e.g. about "how long it takes to post an invoice with 10 lines" or anything, well, then: there isn't (except for the marking stuff telling you how many millions of line you could process etc. - in theory, not reality 8-[ - for example https://mbs.microsoft.com/downloads/partner/Nav/MSDYNAV_SQL_White%20Paper.pdf)

It also depends on hardware - Give me $5,000.00 and $20,000.00 and I'll get two very different machines that will have different performance & different benchmarks.

Or give $20,000.00 to a person that has a good understanding of NAV and another $20,000.00 to a person that just builds servers and you will get different performance and benchmarks.
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.
