How to implement Header / Line Relationship

Hi,
I am trying to emulate the Header Line relationships used throughout NAV in some new tables of my own. I'm finding it hard to get info on how they hang together and how to get it working. Could someone bullet point me some things I need to do in terms of table design and form setup or point me in the right direction.

Hang together?

You mean like a form & a subform?
Relationship would be something like having the same field on both tables so they can be linked

Ex/ Sales Order & Sales Line

both have Doc Type & Doc #

Ya I realise the requirements in terms of a relational database but the Line No. appears to go
Order No. Line No.
1000 10000
1000 20000
1000 30000
1001 10000
1001 20000
etc..

How do I emulate that? Is it necessary?
