Comparison Period Formula in Item Analysis Report in GB data

Has anyone else had any problems using the Comparison Period Formula in the Analysis Columns on the Item Analysis Reports in a GB database?

I’m trying to create a relatively simple report with the items as rows and Sales Qty and Sales Amount per period as the columns, similar idea to the Invt. Analysis by dimension but showing quantity and amount on the same report.

I’ve setup the column template with the following:
Column Type as Net Change
Ledger Entry Type as Item Entries
Analysis Type Code as either Sales-QTY or Sales-AMT
Comparison Period Formula as FY[1], FY[2], FY[3] etc. for the periods.

When I run the report the value for all of the periods is the same either the total quantity for the year or the total amount for the year. If I drill into one of the values and check the date filter then I can see it is set for the whole year, just copying the filter from the report header.

I have tried this in a US Cronus database and get the results I was expecting; just the values for the period rather than the whole year, so I suspect the problem is due to the way the GB database has a different financial period setup.

I tried to look at the code to see what is different but I’m not entirely sure how the columns are generated on a matrix grid.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There was an issue with the comparison period and financial years in 4.0, but I cannot remember. It was GB specific as it was to do with the financial year re-writes in the GB version.

What exactly are you putting in the comparison period field? -1FY?

I'm entering the comparison period formula as FY[1] but I have just tried 1FY with the same result I've also tried 1P, 2P etc but they all give the same result.

I forgot to say I'm using v5.00 but have tried in v5.01 with the same result.

Change the column type to balance at date.

    Set comparison period to CM-12M

    Do the values change?

I can see what you're trying with that formula and have just tried it, I also tried CY-1Y+1M, CY-1Y+2M etc. before posting the original message.

Both formulas give the same problem, the date filter that gets applied is ''..31/01/08, ''..29/02/08 etc so January's figure is correct but February's figure is a sum of January and February.

If there is some way of specifying the start date for a period the problem would be solved.

I am having the same problem with NAV 2013 GB.
I tried to create a monthly column for the Accounts Schedules, and every month the values appear the same.

In my case however, the "Comparison Period Value" field does not exist, so I need to find an alternative solution.
