Is there a way to reserve items by customer?

Have someone ever tried to reserve inventory by customer?
Right now we have created locations for any of out consigment inventory. In some cases is not even consigment, we just keep the inventory for some particular customers on our warehouse.

very very rarely, we would Neg adjustment using item journal to take out (reserve) some merch from being sold or shipped to someone else.

Then Positive adj it back when we were ready to go with that customer's order.

Don't know if it's the best way, but it worked for us. As I said Rarely so we really never put alot of time thinking about it. :?:
