Hello Carsten,
the questions sounds nice. Do you want to run the Server in a VMWare partition or the client?
I have spoken with Code Waeaver's people a few months ago on the Linux fair in Frankfurt and they told me, that there is a way to run the Client in Wine.
I will test the Client in VM-Ware next week.
Do you have any experience in this?

I am running a client under VMWare, but I don't exactly know what a GSX-Server is, and what the benefits would be ... can you explain?
I have been trying to run the client through Wine, but I didn't succeed (dll-problem). Is there some kind of HOWTO available?
