Hi..

I have the following observation to share and would need some advice:

I'm trying to restore a backup of a database from a customer of mine that is created using Attain SQL Server Option to do some troubleshooting. The .fbk file size is 2GB and the filename is Requested.fbk. While restoration to about 75%, Attain prompted an error message: File 'Z:\Requested2.fbk' not found.

My query is as follows:

1) What may be the possible reason that Attain is looking for the second file?
2) Am I right to assume that Attain can only create .fbk files of up to 2GB?

Thks in advance.

Regards,
Spyzzz...

1/ Attain is looking for the second file to complete the restore.

2/ Yes, 2 gig limit. Any backup larger than this will create multiple fbk files.

Becouse of Operating System limitations (only Win 2k/XP (may be NT too) supports files larger than 2Gb). And becouse of Integer type limitation 2^31.
