Missing feature in Job Module of NAV 5.0

PunkyPunky Member Posts: 26
Hello,

when checking the new Job Module of NAV 5.0 I realised that i can't generate an invoice anymore for the usage.

In NAV 4.0 SP3 I could make an invoice and get the usage of a job. Hereby I could create partial invoices for the work done on monthly base.

Is there anyone who can give me a suggestion to do this in NAV 5.0 or know a good alternative for this.

I find it very strange that from now on you can't make partial invoices for jobs.

Thanks,
Punky

When using consumptions you should select Line Type. You should select for example Schedule and Contract to line be transferred to planning and you should be able to invoice.

Why not post the usage on the job journal directly?

I have posted my usage on the job journal. But I want to make monthly invoices for the usage posted on a job.

Every developer post his hours on a job daily. At the end of the month we invoice all worked days the developer did on that job. So I would like te make an invoice of the posted usage of a job.

Do you know how I can do it in NAV 5.0, because in NAV 4.0 SP3 it could be done from Sales Invoice Form.

You can generate a sales invoice from the Job Task Lines. There's a function "Create Sales Invoice" under button Functions on the Job Task Lines form.

Yes I know that I can generate a invoice with the "Create Sales Invoice" but the invoice you generate is for the full amount of the planning line.

If you plan to work voor 100 hours in total and this month you worked for 20 hours. When you generate a invoice from the planning line it makes a sales line for 100 hours and you can't change this at all.

So I am looking for a way to invoice the 20 hours instead of the 100 in total.

Sorry that I forgot to mention that I already tried the function.

And if you use "Planning Date Filter" in the report that creates the invoice?

I think I make my planningline wrong. I made a planningline with type "Planning & Contract" and want to partial invoice this line and this was not possible.

So first I need to make a planningline with type "Planning" for the budget and when I post my usage I need to select type "Contract" so that the system creates a planningline for the usage that i can invoice.

So when I use the "Create Invoice Function" I can indeed use the "Planning Date Filter" to make an invoice of a selection of usages.

Thank you very much, I didn't found the solution without your help.
