Excel not responding when trying to access BA Cubes

Hello NAV Pro's!

We set up Business analytics Basic and think this is quite a cool tool for management and analyzing purposes.
I created several cubes (besides the standard ones) and it works.
We use Excel as the Frontend for analyzing.
sometimes when I drag a new column into my pivot table excel says "OLAP cubes running" (or similar, I have no english Excel installed). It then uses much processor power and takes up to more then one gigabyte of RAM.
I sometimes was waiting for more than 30 minutes and then did not beleive that I will get a response and so cancelled it.

Anybody experienced the same problem or anybody an idea what the problem could be?

Wany thanks for your help,
I am running ](*,)

The problem can be big count of records you want to add into the excel. Excel pivot table have problems with too much records. Try to use filters first to limit count of records in the table.

Well that would explain it, but what else can I do if I do not want to purchase extra tool like TARGIt Business Anylytics?
The strange thing is that it sometimes works fast, sometimes it needs some minutes and sometimes I give up after waitung for more than 20 minutes.

As we are planning an upgrading to SQL-Server 3005 I hope that may these things get better.
