GetTextWidth in a report

is there a function that could return the width (in pixels or navision report units) of a given text of a given font printable on a report. I need to check if a textbox has enough width to print a given text string.

Or i could use a function that returns a number of characters that will fit into a given TextBox without clipping

No there is no such function in Navision.
You can use the "Courier New" font or another fixed-width font. All characters have the same wide, so you can easily calculate if a string fits.

i have heard there is an ocx wrap of a winapi function DrawTextEx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms534007(VS.85).aspx that returns in the DRAWTEXTPARAMS structure http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms534012(VS.85).aspx the number of characters it managed to draw

i just can not find it anymore
