Outlook Synchronisation Workflow

Hi everybody..
in a few words... could you tell me how the synchronisation with Outlook works?

I'm using NAV4.02 SQL.
I can't understand why sometimes I can find duplicated contacts.

What kinds of logics does the process use to replace or recreate contacts in Navision RM?

I have several cases in which from an Outlook contact, corresponding to a RM contact, with the synchronisation process it creates a new contact - both RM and Outlook!!
