Windows NT and Navision 4.0 SP3

awarnawarn Member Posts: 261
Hi,

Will Navision 4.0 SP3 work with Windows NT? I have one computer that is (obviously) very old, and contains some dlls that the client would like to keep, that needs to run navision.

If SP3 is not compatible I don't mind saying that but I don't want to say it if it isn't true - does anyone know?

Thanks,

-a

I have come to find out that NT is not recommended:

    Windows 2000
    Windows XP
    Windows Server 2003

    Are listed in the manual.

NAV 4.0SP3 is NOT compatible with Windows NT. I found that out at a customer. I didn't know they still had those running on some PC's.

Compatible is a very sensitive word whose meaning is interpretable.

    Installation might create problems.
However there are workarounds like RDP...

The workaround was pretty easy. Told the client that 4.0 SP3 wasn't compatible with their NT computer with 128 MB / 2 GIGs hard drive computer and they replaced it.

In this case the easiest solution was the best one.
